Well, there's a turn-up for the books ...!

This isn't half as bad as fans have made it out to be.

Of course, in terms of script complexity, visual design, performances, pacing and music it's way, way behind the original, but if it does nothing else it will create a renewed interest in McGoohan's 1960s opus ...

I thought the new village could have been a plus with its conformity if they had not made it so big. Having only one number 2 could be a mistake as in the McGoohan series it gave them something to fear and to answer to. We don't seem to have a supervisor yet in control of the surveilance. 93 must have been the cameo for McGoohan (9-3=6) with the original jacket, the picture of Big Ben and his house like McGoohan's complete with lava lamps.. The actor even resembled and older McGoohan with a beard. At least Rover is still there. I'll keep watching.

I've seen the first two episodes so far and have to say it's not bad actually.

Well now it has finished it was a completely different story to the original with only a few nods to the original. Whereas the original No6 was being tested to become No1 in a time of national emergency along with finally Leo McKerms No2 and Alex Kanners character in the final episode. The No 6 here was being groomed to take over from the ageing No2 and his wife because his son was unwilling to take on a girl and the running of the village.
